Instruments: Trumpet, Flugelhorn, Trombone, Background Vocals
My musical background started at a very young age, being the second to the youngest of eight brothers and sisters, most of whom are musically inclined. Both parents were musically inclined as well, where my father played saxophone and clarinet, and my mother played French horn. I was constantly exposed to music and various instruments during my childhood, and would play my brothers trumpet, starting at the young age of seven. I started studying trumpet at the age of twelve, at San Fernando Junior High School, under the direction of Mr. Dick Dale.

  • Continued studying and playing at San Fernando High School under the direction of Mr. Carmen Falso. During this time, I had the opportunity to march and play in two Rose Bowl Parades, in 1977, and 1978.
  • Performed during the Rose Bowl Game half time show in 1977, and in the NFL Super bowl game in 1978.
  • Graduated to Pomona College in 1978 where I majored in music and studied trumpet under the direction of Mr. Roy Poper, and studied Jazz under Bobby Bradford. Played in both the Jazz orchestra, and Concert orchestra.
  • Have played professionally in various Top 40, Soul and R&B Bands, starting in 1975 at the age of sixteen with Summer Breeze, as well as with, T.K.O., Mixed Company, House Arrest, The Company Band, Persuasion, Westside Crew, and Tierra.
